ABOUT THE ARTIST:
Nano Abia (Vigo, 1978) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Madrid whose work—rooted in the 1990s Spanish graffiti scene—spans painting, sculpture, installation and mural art. His pieces evolve from figuration into near-abstract compositions filled with distorted bodies, urban symbols and dream-like environments. Trained in Fine Arts in Pontevedra and later at Saint Martins and the London College of Printing, he has exhibited widely in Spain and abroad, including Tate Modern, MARCO, Somerset House and the SAM in Saint Petersburg. A member of El Equipo Plástico, his work fuses colour, materiality and diverse visual references to build a vibrant universe where the urban and the intimate remain in constant tension.
